European Housedust — Durkin 2026 (Py-GC/MS, mass-based) |
| description |
Mass-weighted household dust composition derived from Durkin et al. (2026), a repeated passive-deposition study of 105 homes in the Netherlands analysed by Py-GC/MS (total geometric mean deposition 35.06 µg/m²/day, GSD 2.69). Shares are mass-based and are used as abundance weights only; the source method does not resolve particle number, size or morphology, which are inherited from the European Housedust Reference. Intended for sensitivity analysis rather than as a default matrix. |

| notes |
n = 105 women, two sampling rounds three months apart; passive glass petri dish deposition at ~1.2 m; Py-GC/MS targeting nine polymer clusters. Mass shares: PET 79.7%, PP 6.2%, PE 6.2%, PS 2.1%, PC 0.14% (PC derived from geometric mean 0.05 of 35.06 µg/m²/day). Approximately 5.7% of mass is unallocated (C-PMMA and C-PA6; detection frequencies only). C-PVC excluded (cotton interference); C-MDI-PUR not detected. Mass-based shares are not interchangeable with particle-number shares without a particle size assumption. |
