Description
A reference exposure matrix representing MNP contamination in processed packaged meats (sausages, cold cuts, bacon and similar products). Contamination arises from two sources: mechanical processing (grinding and emulsification introduce fragments) and packaging materials (plastic wrap and trays shedding PE/PS particles, plus PVDC coatings). The profile is mixed rather than purely nano: about half of the abundance lies in the ultrafine and fine nano range, from packaging degradation and processing, and the remainder lies in the submicron and coarse range, from PE fragments released by the processing environment and PET/PP fibres from equipment and packaging.
