About this Database
This module provides two linked resources for characterising the hazard potential of micro- and nano-plastics (MNPs) in the context of human health risk assessment:
- Particle Characterisation Database — A structured inventory of individual MNP particle types, recording their physicochemical properties (polymer, size, morphology, surface chemistry), lifecycle (origin, weathering state), and associated chemical additives / adsorbed contaminants.
- Exposure Matrix Database — A collection of reference environmental mixtures (e.g. housedust, food, water) that define the relative abundance of particle types in real-world exposure scenarios. Each matrix entry includes fractional abundances, size bins, and particle size distributions to support realistic dose metrics.
Particle Characterisation Database
Browse, search, and review individual MNP particle records including polymer type, morphology, size, surface properties, weathering state, and associated chemical additives or contaminants.

Exposure Matrix Database
Browse reference exposure matrices (house dust, food, water, etc.) and their composition — the particle types present, their fractional abundances, size bins, and particle size distributions.
